Hydraulic Separator is designed for separating boiler and heating circuit for medium and high power systems including one or several boilers and one or several heating ciruits,&nbsp;provide independent operation of both circuits without the need to balance the flow rates. Hydraulic Separators are used in high volume central heating systems (e.g. revamping).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>separating boiler and heating circuit<\/li><li>maintaining independent mass flow in the boiler circuit and the heating circuit<\/li><li>eliminating flow rate balancing in the boiler circuit and the heating circuit<\/li><li>heating medium blowdown<\/li><li>heating medium air purging<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hydraulic Separators is designed as a low-carbon steel cylindrical tank with external paint coat finish. Tank shell (1) includes four ports. Inlet (2) and outlet (3) ports connect the boiler circuit, whereas outlet (4) and inlet (5) ports connect the heating circuit. A perforated baffle (6) preventing direct water flow from the boiler to the heating system with air purging. To remove the air from the top tank section, the tank is fitted with an air relief valve port (7). The bottom tank section includes baffles (9) for easy blowdown. The quantity of heat delivered Q<sub>D<\/sub> is equal to the quantity of heat received Q<sub>O<\/sub>.<\/li>\n<li>With the heating system control valves closed due to a reduced heat demand Q<sub>O<\/sub>, part of the stream flows along the hydraulic separator (Fig. 2). The excess heat Q<sub>D<\/sub> is returned and indicates that the boiler power should be reduced or the boilers stopped.<\/li>\n<li>If the heat demand Q<sub>O<\/sub> is higher than the boiler power Q<sub>D<\/sub>, the heating system pumps force the return stream suction (Fig. 3). It reduces the temperature of the heating circuit supply stream.
